Board Meeting Notes

The October Board Meeting was called to order by Club President Kim Jennison at 7:05am.

Sally Palmer was presented with a special Women in Kiwanis pin recognizing her twenty years of continuous membership in Kiwanis.

The October drawings for the Year Round Raffle were held. The winners were: Galley Hatch Gift Certificate (Dick Kaiser), Portsmouth Magazine Subscription (Ginny Karwoski), Portsmouth Gas Light Gift Certificate (Joanne Small), Cord of Firewood (Mike Donahue), and Poco's Gift certificate (Blake Russell).

The minutes of the September Board meeting were read and approved.

The Treasurer reported the following balances in club accounts:

Administrative Account: $1557.49
Service Account: $5722.83
Conference Account: $753.88
CD (Restricted Funds): $7836.65

For the year ended 9/30/07, the club showed a loss of $1376.62. However, this does not include money due us from Flatbread Pizza and the NH International Speedway.

Under new business:

The 2007-08 Club Meeting Schedule was approved.

The membership roster was reviewed. Members who are not current with their dues will be contacted.

The 2007-08 Administrative and Service Budgets were approved.

Appointments were made to the Club Standing Committees, Parade Committee, and Audit Committee.

The meeting concluded with a round of Happy Dollars.

The meeting was adjourned by at 8:05am.

Meeting Schedule

The Board approved a new meeting schedule for the 2007-08 year. It is as follows:

1st Wednesday: Board Meeting at 7:00am at the Community Campus

2nd Wednesday: Regular Meeting at 7:00am at the Community Campus

3rd Wednesday: Evening Social Meeting (locations to be determined)

4th/5th Wednesdays: Regular Meeting at 7:00am at the Community Campus

Eliot Festival Day

We had a busy and successful day at Eliot Festival last Saturday. The club raised $751 with our Duck Pluck Game. Thanks to Frank, Kim, Sue, Dave, Dan, Glen, and Gerry for helping out during the day.

Pease Greeters

If you would like to greet a group of service men and women returning from overseas, there is a flight arriving at the Pease Airport on Tuesday, 10/9/07 at 12:35 PM and departing at 2:05 PM.

Kittery Halloween Celebration

The Club will be participating in the Kittery Halloween Celebration on Saturday- Oct. 27th at the Kittery Community Center from Noon-3:00pm. We will be doing a free game for kids. Sign up to help at the next Club meeting.

Salvation Army Soup Kitchen

Our next date to volunteer at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen in Portsmouth will be Saturday- Oct. 27th from 4:00-6:00pm. Sign up to work at next week's meeting.

District Fall Conference

The New England District of Kiwanis will be holding its annual Fall Conference on Nov. 16-18 in North Conway. If you are interested in attending, please contact Frank for information and registration forms.
